Social and emotional learning (SEL) is the process through which children and adults acquire and effectively apply the knowledge, attitudes, and skills necessary to understand and manage emotions, set and achieve positive goals, feel and show empathy for others, establish and maintain positive relationships, and make responsible decisions.

This site was created by the KCUSD School Psychologists, School Social Workers, and Behavior Intervention Team. It contains tools, resources, and additional information related to social, emotional, and behavioral learning. What's New This Month?

Fragile X

Fragile X syndrome is a genetic condition that causes a range of developmental problems including learning disabilities and cognitive impairment. Usually, males are more severely affected by this disorder than females. Features include long and narrow faces, large ears, and a prominent jaw and forehead.
