In the event of foggy conditions, buses may be delayed to ensure the safety of students. All Kings Canyon Unified Schools will be open and ready for students as normal.

PLEASE look/listen for our district’s name, KINGS CANYON UNIFIED. (***NOTE: individual schools, Alta, Citrus, Dunlap, Lincoln etc., will not be listed.) The district’s name will be displayed as, KINGS CANYON USD – Valley or KINGS CANYON USD – Mtn., followed by Plan A, B, or C. When the weather affected area “Valley” appears, this indicates that all buses serving our valley schools including Reedley High School mountain buses, are delayed due to fog or other severe weather conditions. When “Mtn” (mountain) appears, this indicates that all mountain buses are delayed due to snow or ice conditions.
HOW DO I KNOW WHEN MY BUS IS COMING?
This depends on the Plan (A, B, or C). You'll have to add either 1.5 or 2.5 hours to the normal pick up time to determine when buses will pick up on a foggy day.
Buses delayed 1 ½ hours
(Plan posted online/social between 5:45 & 6:30 a.m.)
Buses delayed 2 ½ hours
(If fog worsens, plan will be updated at 7:30 a.m.)
Morning buses CANCELLED
(Plan updated at 8:30 a.m.. Afternoon buses will return students home and run at the regular time)
TARDIES WAVED ON FOGGY DAYS
School will start on time even on a foggy day. However, parents who drive their student to school should decide if it's safe to do so. Tardiness because of fog or inclement weather will be excused upon parent notification.
