CSEA Negotiations Update May 15, 2015
The Kings Canyon Unified School District and the CSEA met on May 11, today to begin negotiations for the 2015/2016 school year. Both teams were well prepared for this full-day session and there was positive outlook from both sides of the table.
CSEA addressed their initial reopener proposals, for salary and benefits CSEA proposed an 8% increase to the total comp package. In addition, they proposed additions of stipends for employees attending Scicon. CSEA also discussed proposed changes to Article XV, Transportation, concerning unassigned drivers and trip board usage and policies.
Dr. John Quinto presented the district's understanding of the new state Local Control Funding Formula (LCFF) and what mandates and allocation requirements must be met in regards to this funding. The district also presented explanations of numerous concerns and how they affect the district budget.
